Emergency & Second Opinions

When It’s an Emergency

Symptoms that may need immediate hospital care include:

  • Sudden, severe abdominal pain
  • Pain with fever and repeated vomiting
  • Black, tarry stools or vomiting blood
  • Severe jaundice with fever
  • Distended, rigid abdomen

In these situations, we advise going straight to the nearest emergency department (often Ruby Hall Clinic or Poona Hospital), where Dr Rajesh can be requested for surgical input where feasible.

Phone advice is not a substitute for emergency evaluation. If in doubt, treat it as an emergency.

Second Opinions Before Surgery

Many patients reach us after:

  • Being advised immediate gallbladder or hernia surgery
  • Being told “it’s just acidity” for months or years
  • Being told nothing more can be done for liver disease

A second opinion typically includes:

  • Review of all previous reports, scans and endoscopies
  • Physical examination and risk assessment
  • Explanation of whether surgery is necessary, optional or premature
  • Discussion of options: medicine, lifestyle, endoscopy, laparoscopy, open surgery
